NEWSLETTERS
The
Guild has decided to mount copies of its newsletter, Raised Bands,
as a downloadable PDF document, starting in 2007. Click on either the
image or its caption to download the file. You may then store it electronically
on your own computer or print it out.
You
will need Adobe Acrobat Reader to view the PDFs. If you haven't already
got it, you can download it for free here.
2008
Raised Bands was started in 1983, which means that 2008 is
its 25th year! Apparently the entire collection is archived by the Belconnen
branch of the ACT Library and is accessible to the public.
Guild members are encouraged to contribute by writing articles and alerting
the editor of interesting snippets. Maybe people could nominate their
favorite articles from past newsletters to be digitised on the website
and / or republished as a ‘blast from the past’ section
of the newsletter?
In the meantime, the numbering and dating system of the newsletter has
been changed. The first 2008 newsletter is numbered ‘Vol. 25,
no.1, February 2008’. This ensures that the newsletter reflects
its long history, and also the actual month that it is released. It
also means that the Christmas edition is actually dated ‘December’!
