FIGURE-OF-EIGHT STITCH
The Figure-of-Eight Stitch can be used wherever a hinge is necessary between two points. It is extremely good for slide mounts or other thick card.
1. Start with two corresponding holes on each of the two panels that you wish to join.
2. Thread a needle with strong linen thread which has been waxed.
3. Enter one hole in one of the panels on the least conspicuous side of the panel (the side you enter will be where the knot is).
4. Sew in a simple figure-of-eight, twice, as illustrated above.
